Italian midfielder Marco Verratti has renewed his contract with Paris Saint Germain until 2019.

The French international had signed a one-year contract extension last summer to keep him at the Ligue 1 club until 2018 tripling his wages to earn between €2.5 million and €3m per year in the process, and the club has now tied him down for a further year.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the 21-year-old said, “When I think of my career, I do not see anything different compared to PSG. I want to continue winning trophies with this club and continue to grow alongside great champions.”

Verratti arrived in Paris from Pescara in 2012 and has firmly established himself as key player at the club over the past two seasons, helping them win five trophies and had been linked with Juventus in the summer transfer window.
