Atalanta tried to make amends with a young Juventus fan who was denied entry to Saturday’s clash in Bergamo if he kept his Bianconeri shirt on.

Before Juventus defeated Atalanta 3-0, the father and son were told by stewards at the Stadio Azzuri d’Italia would not be admitted if the child did not remove his jersey.

Gazzetta Dello Sport reported that Orobici director of sport Pierpaolo Marino made a conciliatory gesture with an invite for the two to watch a game, perhaps even the return of the match with Juventus.

It’s understood though the father preferred to decline the invitation to ensure the anonymity and privacy of the child.

Marino had called the incident “regrettable” and bemoaned the ‘”excessive zeal on the part of the steward.”

Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus side made it five wins from five in Serie A at the Stadio Azzuri d’Italia through a Carlos Tevez double and Alvaro Morata’s first for the club since arriving for €20 million from Real Madrid in the summer.
