Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has stated that Giuseppe Iachini will stay on as coach of the Rosanero even if they lose their next five Serie A matches.

The Rosanero have faield to register a win after two rounds of Serie A fixtures but Zamparini believes his side have only struggled due to a lack of experience, not because of their coach.

“I confirm that Iachini will remain as coach of Palermo even if we were to lose the next five games of the season,” Zamparini said on RAI Radio 2.

“He won’t lose but in any case he would remain nonetheless.

“We are paying the price for our inexperience, but we should have six points in the standings. Two wins against Verona and Sampdoria escaped us.”

Zamparini has also been critical of Lazio president Claudio Lotito’s great public presence and he labelled him “a mini-Benito Mussolini”.

“He is suffering with stardom a bit,” Zamparini told Il Messaggero.

“He is a small Duce but he is working well with the Lega [Serie A] and the Federazione [Italian Giuoco Calcio], although I wouldn’t walk together with him.”
