Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that he’s expecting a tough match at home against Inter on Sunday but is confident that the hosts will be able to do well.

The Rosanero have only secured one point in their first two matches of the 2014-15 Serie A campaign, however, the 73-year-old insists that he hasn’t lost faith in coach Giuseppe Iachini just yet.

Zamparini spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of Palermo’s home meeting with Inter about the talent possessed by the visiting team and praised their coach Walter Mazzarri, while also expressing his trust in Iachini.

“We will be challenging one of the biggest sides in Italian football,” said the president. “I expect a tough match, but we have always done well enough against Inter.

“Mazzarri? He is the strength of Inter, he is a very good coach.

“Will Inter win the Scudetto this season? It’s not possible to know the answer of this yet.

“Iachini’s position at Palermo? He can remain calm, he will not leave. He’s my coach.”
