Atalanta defender David Zappacosta believes that his side’s spirited performance warranted a victory against Fiorentina.
The 22-year-old is regretful that a good performance resulted in the away side taking all three points from the match as the Dea fell 1-0 to the Viola.
“There is a lot of regret, as we played an excellent game,” the full-back told atalanta.it.
“The result lies. We can share positive things about what we’ve seen against the Viola.”
The win for Fiorentina represents Atalanta’s first loss of the Serie A season, after not losing in the two games prior to the fixture.
Italy U21 international Zappacosta has made three league appearances after joining the club permanently after being co-owned with Avellino.
