Cagliari coach Zdenek Zeman said his side failed to show their real selves in the 2-0 defeat to Roma on Sunday afternoon.
Early goals from Mattia Destro and Alessaandro Florenzi for the home side at the Stadio Olimpico condemned the Rossoblu to their second defeat in seven days .
“I was expecting a lot more from my side, after what we saw on Wednesday from Roma in the Champions League we looked scared,” Zeman told Sky Sport Italia.
“Roma are a great team, but we were frightened and didn’t play like we should have. We have a young side and I’ve told them we can’t stand back and watch the opponent, we have to play our own game.
“I will hope for a big improvement on Wednesday.”
Cagliari face Torino on Wednesday in the mid-week fixtures and will be hoping to get back on track.
