Cagliari boss Zdenek Zeman believes his team can do well in their meeting with Inter on Sunday but admits that his forwards must be better in front of goal.

The Isolani will be heading to the San Siro to take on the Nerazzurri with just one point earned in their first four matches and the tactician feels his squad’s lack of goals is to blame, as they’ve only put the ball in the back of the net three times this season thus far.

Zeman spoke during his pre-match press conference on Saturday about the game with Inter and the strength of the Rossoblu defence, while also commenting on striker Victor Ibarbo’s need to improve.

“Ibarbo is a player who has the potential to score a lot of goals,” said the 67-year-old. “But he does not play for the goals and I must try to change his mentality.

“The problems in defence? There had been a few occasions against Torino like the one with Kamil Glik where we could have been a bit sharper, but we defended very well.

“We had not been so dangerous to the Toro, problems were only created in dead-ball situations. We lack in the offensive phase, the passage from the back line to the attack, but I’m satisfied with our defence.

“Inter’s defence? I like to play against a three-man defence, because then my attackers have more space to get to the goal.

“Cagliari is a good team with quality and I hope to help them improve.”
