AC Milan forward Robinho responds to sexual assault claims

Robinho AC MilanAC Milan forward Robinho has reacted angrily to allegations of sexual assault.

The Brazilian, currently on loan at Brazilian club Santos, is part of a group of players – the rest of which remain unnamed – reportedly being investigated over a group sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman in Milan.

Releasing a statement through the official Santos club website after the striker was called to testify for the prosecution in Milan in January

“I am addressing the matter for the first and last time,” the 30-year-old said.

“I am totally unaware of any current police concerns towards me.

“Nothing is true. This is false and irresponsible news reported in Italy, and it is totally unverified.

“I am very sad and disgusted by the news.

“I hope the media answer for publishing unfounded news. I have asked my lawyers to act accordingly.”

Robinho has scored three goals in 11 appearances in his spell at Santos, after three seasons with the Rossoneri.
