alex ac milanAC Milan defender Alex has revealed that the Diavolo will be fighting for a victory in their upcoming match with Palermo following consecutive draws against Fiorentina and Cagliari.

The third place Rossoneri will be hosting the Rosanero at the San Siro on Sunday and will be looking to close the six-point gap between them and Roma and Juventus, as the top two teams are tied with 22 points, though the 32-year-old admits that the visitors won’t be an easy side to crack.

Alex spoke to Milan Channel on Thursday about Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Cagliari and the upcoming meeting with Palermo, while also commenting on the need for more points.

“The match yesterday was tough,” said the Brazilian. “They played very well and they also had an extra day to rest with respects to us.

“However, the point is what counts and it’s very important to us. We now have to win the next match against Palermo. We must keep working harder, we do this every day. We have to do better and improve match by match.

“We collected two points from the past two matches and the six points difference between us and Juventus and Roma are a lot, but I think we have to fight for this championship.

“My whole family likes Milan. It’s a really beautiful city.

“Palermo are a strong side and we shall have to stay focused right from the start and play with strength.”
