Torino striker Amauri has revealed that he is hoping to score his first goal for the Turin side in their Europa League clash with FC Copenhagen on Thursday in order to celebrate with the home fans.

The Granata will play host to the Danish club during the group stage meeting between the two sides and the 34-year-old has insisted that he’s been doing well in Giampiero Ventura’s squad even though he’s yet to begin adding to his goal tally at his new club.

Amauri spoke during Torino’s pre-match press conference on Wednesday about his confidence ahead of the match with Copenhagen and admitted that his main objective is to put the ball into the back of the net for the Toro.

“I’m doing fine here, I’m also growing from the tactical aspect, once I score my first goal things will be even better,” said the former Parma man, who arrived in Turin from the Crociati over the summer.

“I’m no longer a kid, so I don’t look at the tactics so much but instead the desire to score, certainly I can overcome any obstacle that may present itself in a game.

“It’s important to take the field with your head in the right place and to always focus on doing even better.

“I’m making myself available which is the best I can do, I hope that I can get my first goal tomorrow, I want to rejoice with the fans.”
