Two-time World Cup winning striker Mia Hamm is set to join Roma’s board of directors.

Hamm, a known supporter of the capital club, was recently appointed by owner James Pallotta to fill one of two vacancies on the board.

Along with the former ice hockey star and president of the Boston Bruins NHL team Cam Neely, Hamm will fill two empty seats on the board.

The club’s former president Thomas DiBenedetto, and American lawyer Joe Tacopina left the board in order to take over Serie B club Bologna.

The 42 year-old is one of the most decorated female players in the history of football, having won the Women’s World Cup in 1991 and 1999, Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2004, and the FIFA Woman World Player of the Year in both 2001 and 2002.
