Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono conceded that his side did not play well in the first half in their defeat to Sampdoria but felt his side had chances to equalize in the second half.

The Nerazzurri fell to a fourth successive defeat, losing 1-0 away to an in form Sampdoria team. Manolo Gabbiadini scored the only goal of the game in the first half.

“In the first half they played better than us, however  we conceded from an unfortunate situation,” he stated to Radio 1 after the match.

“During the second half we did very well, without taking advantage of the opportunities in our favour.

“It’s a pity about the result.”

The coach also stated that the upcoming international break comes at the right time for the club and his players.

“The [international] break will allow us to recover our energy and work out the best approach for the next game home.”
