Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has revealed that he’s happy to represent a great club like the Reds and insisted that he’s working hard to please the club and its fans.

The 24-year-old joined the Premier League side from AC Milan over the summer and has been struggling to find his form as he’s yet to score a league goal for the team in his five appearances thus far, but he admits that he’s fully focused on providing goals for his new club as soon as possible and is thankful for the patience of the supporters.

Balotelli spoke to Sport Magazine about his time at Liverpool since his arrival and his objectives for the season, while also commenting on the past criticism he has received from former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli and blasted the tactician for being a coward.

“I didn’t know much about the club before coming here, but I was pleasantly surprised,” said the Italian. “I knew it was a good team, but I didn’t think so much to this extent.

“Obviously we still need to improve in so many ways because the start was not so good. I agree with the Liverpool supporters being frustrated with me because I haven’t scored any goals.

“This is true, however, I’m aware that they appreciate the fact that I’m working so hard to change this.

“My goal scoring objectives? First, I have to score my first goal, then I will think about the rest.

“Prandelli? Real men will speak to your face. Prandelli has spoken ill of me and I did not expect him to do so in front of reporters.

“And I haven’t answered him because it doesn’t make sense. I think that real men, if they have something to say, they will say it to your face.”
