Bayern Munich defender Mehdi Benatia is happy with his sides Champions League victory at the Stadio Olimpico but spoke only words of praise for his former team and blames the Italian press for the Roma fans booing him.
The Moroccan center back put in a stellar performance for his side at the back as Bayern defeated Roma 7-1 tonight in their Champions League group match.
“We have exploited all the opportunities available and immediately went ahead in the game,”Benatia told Sky Sport Italia.
“I’m happy for the win, I hope that in the end we will qualify, as well as Roma.
“Thanks to the work of the press, I have been booed by everyone. I can say that I love this team [Roma] and these guys.
“Here I bonded with everyone and I was happy to see the players and coaches. They now will soon be in Mumich.”
