Rafa-Benitez-turista-a-NapoliNapoli coach Rafa Benitez believes that squad rotation is a necessity and can bear fruit throughout the season as the Azzurri prepare to take on Slovan Bratislava.

The Partenopei play in Bratislava on Thursday evening and face a potentially tricky match against Torino in Serie A on Sunday and due to the short time between games, Benitez feels there is no option other than to rotate his squad.

“We are changing players because you have to address this when matches are so close together,” Benitez told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

“Whoever takes to the field can show his level of performance and demonstrate his mentality.

“This will help the team in all competitions.

“[Will Napoli target the Europa League?] We go into every game wanting to win, so my choice of players is always with the thought of winning.”

He then discussed his captain Marek Hamsik as the Slovakian has had a quiet start to the season.

“He is a very important player, he has quality and he has shown that over the last year. He knows he can do better and we trust that he will do it in the continental competition.”
