Former Juventus forward Zbigniew Boniek has once again hit out at the Bianconeri for failing to honour him as one of top 50 players throughout the club’s history.

The 58-year-old, who was with the Old Lady from 1982 to 1985, won six trophies during that time period and was selected by the legendary Pele as one of the 100 best living footballers in 2004.

However, Boniek has been pretty open about his name not being honoured by Juventus president Andrea Agnelli.

“There is little to say, I challenge anyone to find a quote where I spoke out against Juve and the club,” he stated in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Evidently Andrea was young and wanted to become friends with the fans, even if many of them still like me.”

Boniek then questioned how Edgar Davids’s name could be included in the list, despite being suspended for doping during his player career with the Bianconeri.

“In the end he[Angelli] preferred to give credit to someone like [Edgar] Davids, who was banned from football for six months on account of drug use.”
