Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon feels the 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid was lost to minor details.

The Bianconeri went down to an Arda Turan goal midway through the second half, but despite controlling much of the game they failed to created any meaningful opportunities.

“It was a balanced game,” the Juve No.1 told Mediaset. “We didn’t create a lot, but we managed the game well and I think a draw would have been a fair result.

“Unfortunately, details are essential in football, as in life, and we lost. Atletico are now a force in Europe, they have strength and are compact, and continue to move forward.

“Now we have to try to improve, to give some discomfort, and more, when we go away from home we need to take more risks.

“Atletico are part of European football’s elite but if we want to graduate in Europe, we have to take more risks.

“Roma in the Champions League has built upon the good things they showed last season, but then they met a team less compact than us. ”
