Giorgio Chiellini has expressed his disappointment following Juventus’s 1-0 defeat to a disciplined Atletico Madrid side in Wednesday evening’s Champions League clash.
The Italian and Spanish champions came up against each other at the Estadio Vicente Calderón and it was the home side that took all three points thanks to a second half goal from Ara Turan.
“We did well in the game,” Chiellini told Mediaset.
“I’m sorry that it didn’t finish 0-0 and now we go away with a bad taste in the mouth because we did not bring home the point that we deserved.
“This is a balanced group and in three weeks we’re going to Athens and that game will say a lot about our chances of qualifying.”
The Italian international the turned his attention towards Juventus next game against Scudetto rivals Roma.
“We have to get this defeat out of our heads quickly and turn our attention to Sunday’s game with Roma.”
