Chievo have sacked coach Eugenio Corini and replaced him with Rolando Maran.

Corini recently signed a new three year contract but had overseen just one win this season, Saturday’s comprehensive 3-0 defeat at Roma was the final straw as The Flying Donkey’s languish in 17th place in Serie A.

The former Juventus and Sampdoria player has been relieved of his duties and replaced by former Catania boss Maran.

It is thought that the Chievo hierarchy are looking for a more attacking style given the players they purchased in the summer.

The change will represent a welcome return to Chievo for Maran, as a player he made 280 appearances in the Gialloblu shirt, scoring 11 goals and establishing himself as hero on the terraces.
