Atalanta midfielder Luca Cigarini believes that La Dea should be able to improve their league ranking in their upcoming string of Serie A matches between now and the next international break in November.

The Orobici will begin their four-game run against Udinese on Sunday and the 28-year-old is confident in his team’s chances of securing positive results in order to move up the Serie A standings in the coming weeks, as they currently sit in 15th place with seven points.

Cigarini spoke to L’Eco di Bergamo about Atalanta’s away meeting with the Zebrette and commented on the club’s potential to do well in their next four games against Udinese, Napoli, Torino and Sassuolo, respectively.

“Our ranking should be more realistic by the next international break,” said the Italian. “Now we have a mini-cycle of four games that are possible to do well in.

“Three of the games are against opponents within our reach and the other one is at home against Napoli, who are aware that playing in Bergamo is a problem for everyone.

“The match with Udinese? We will face them with courage. They’re like us, they may be the Bianconeri, but they’re not Juventus.”
