Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono has called on his players to show the right mentality during their upcoming fixture with Udinese at the Stadio Friuli on Sunday.

With La Dea grabbing a last gasp win over Parma thanks to Richmond Boakye, Colantuono is expecting his side to kick on and get more consistent results.

“The objective now without a doubt is continuity in the way we play,” the tactician told the press. “It would be crazy not to give continuity, Sunday [against Parma] we played well and this helped us win.

“For me, the important thing is our mentality and desire. I like to play to the wings, I like my players to take people on and we have the quality to do this.

“This time [our formation will allow] an extra midfielder, allowing more shots on goal, becoming more unpredictable.”

Of his opponents, the Atalanta coach was complementary of Andrea Stramaccioni and his high-flying Udinese side.

“I would consider Udinese the surprise of the season, having bought players that really matter. Stramaccioni has immediately fit in very well. “

Colantuono discussed his expectations for Serie A.

“The league is still in its infancy,” he stated. “Juventus and Roma will pull away.

“The important thing now is to give a clear signal of our intentions this season. We need continuity but that will come once we start to win more games.

“Beyond who will play tomorrow we are very pleased with Migliaccio,. I like his spirit: people who suffer in silence, but is always thinking of the team. We have a philosophy and it is very positive. When you call them and they are always ready to play.”
