Italy coach Antonio Conte is considering a move to bring Liverpool forward Mario Balotelli back into the Azzurri set up.
Balotelli has been excluded from Conte’s first two Italy squads with no clear explanation given, though speculation has suggested the former Juventus boss was unhappy with his attitude to the game.
Now, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Conte could recall the player for the key Euro 2016 qualifier against Croatia in November.
It is thought Conte is satisfied overall with his strikers at present, as Simone Zaza and Ciro Immobile gained many plaudits for their performances against the Netherlands and Norway.
However, the Azzurri boss is keen to add an element of proven quality into the side following the laboured 2-1 win over Azerbaijan on Friday.
Italy are next in action in an away trip against Malta on Monday evening at the Euro 2016 qualifiers continue.
