Juan Cuadrado is close to signing a new deal with Fiorentina that will see a €35 million buyout clause inserted.

The figure represents the offer Barcelona submitted to Viola over the summer, only to see it turned down.

La Nazione report that an intervention to contract talks by Fiorentina owner Andrea Della Valle has improved the likelihood of a deal being struck, with Cuadrado set to commit to the Stadio Artemio Franchi until 2019.

A protracted summer saw Cuadrado’s future the subject of much speculation which saw Della Valle take his star asset off the market at the end of the window.

The addition of the release clause indicates that the Viola may well be prepared to cash in on Cuadrado at the end of the current campaign.

The Colombian is in his third season in Florence, having made 71 appearances for Vincenzo Montella’s side, scoring 16 goals.

He recently grabbed his first European goal, the second in a 3-0 victory against French side Guingamp in the first group match of the Europa League.
