De Rossi - RomaDaniele De Rossi has called for supporters to refrain from violence ahead of Roma’s trip to Napoli on Saturday.

The Giallorossi vice captain was speaking to reporters following his side’s 2-0 home win over Cesena. However, his attention seemed to be squarely focused upon his side’s next fixture.

Tension between Napoli and Roma supporter’s is at an all time high after a Partenopei fan, Ciro Esposito, was shot while attending his club’s Coppa Italia final in the capital last May. He later died in hospital. Roma Ultras are alleged to have committed the murder.

“Is this game particular for the death of Ciro Esposito?” pondered the 31 year old Roman.

“The feelings preceding last May are strong, although the Roma fans are innocent. The Azzurri fans know it, even if there has been a rivalry for many years.

“I’m not saying we should go back to twinning [between club supporters], but there should not be a risk of incidents because the football is just a game. ”
