2-2 at Cagliari on Sunday in Serie A.

The Blucerchiati had been two goals ahead through Manolo Gabbiadini and Pedro Obiang but were pegged back at the Stadio Sant’Elia by a Danilo Avelar penalty and Marco Sau after Fabrizio Cacciatore’s red card.

“We are bitter as is the coach for how the match evolved, but we have to take the positive things and also the negative things and improve,” the 26-year-old told SampTv.

“But the team is there, the group is there and the performances have been there. The important thing is the balance and we are moving ahead.

“Everyone is aware of their own means, anyone who plays always does well.”

De Silvestri also praised on-loan Inter midfielder Alfred Duncan as he made his Doria debut after Roberto Soriano pulled out during the warm-up.

“I would like to make a special mention to Duncan who had never played and had a great game,” he concluded.

Sampdoria conceded as many goals against Cagliari as in their six previous matches, but are still unbeaten and third in Serie A.
