Mattia Destro helped Roma to a comfortable 2-0 win at home to Cesena on Wednesday night but insists he is not feeling much pressure to provide goals for his team.

The 24-year-old struck his fourth goal of the season, and his second in three Serie A matches, to move the Giallorossi level with Juventus at the top of Serie A.

“When I have the chance, I always look to give my all and score a goal,” Destro told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“The important thing is that the team has won and that we have taken the three points.

“Pressure? No, because we are well-aware of our strength.”

The 23-year-old Italy international was pleased with the victory at the Stadio Olimpico, but remained coy about the Giallorossi’s chances of winning the Scudetto.

“We have done well to score against Cesena, it was a difficult game because they kept it very tight.

“First place? It’s a long season, we will keep going on our way and try to get as many points as possible.

“If we want to finish the season well with lots of points, we have to do it and not just look at everyone else.

“It’s better to concentrate on this, especially since we are only at the beginning. We’ll see later if other teams manage to keep up with our pace.”
