Antonio Di Natale has revealed that he urged the Udinese hierarchy to sign Fabio Quagliarella over the summer transfer window.
The comments come in the wake of Quagliarella scoring the only goal of the game when his Torino side played host to Di Natale’s Udinese on Sunday afternoon.
“It is fun as hell to play with Alexis Sanchez and [Vincenzo] Iaquinta,” the 37 year old told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“However, [Fabio] Quagliarella is the most complete player. I don’t know how many times have I told [Giampaolo] Pozzo to bring him back to Udine.
“I heard there was a good opportunity during the summer. Well, now that I approach retirement I will not get a chance again to play with him again.”
The two players are good friends and played together at Udinese when Quagliarella was at the club between 2007 and 2009.
