Parma coach Roberto Donadoni was pleased by his team’s positive attitude in the second half  after his side was defeated 1-0 by Torino at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin on Wednesday evening.

The Granata took an early lead through Matteo Darmian which was too much for the Ducali to overcome.

“We probably deserved a draw, but in the end we go home empty-handed and that’s not good,”  said Donadoni to Rai Radio post match.

“Though we played much better in the second and the team impressed me with their attitude and expressed a brand of football I like.

“Scared? No, not at all we were just naive and conceded in the first 10 minutes and didn’t react in the way I would have wanted. But in the second half with a few tactical adjustments we were much better.”

Parma have had a horrendous start to the season, the defeat to Torino was their sixth consecutive defeat of the season and leaves them languishing at the bottom of the table with just three points from nine games.  Donadoni reflected on the situation.

“I have guys who are used to fighting and need to deal with this situation. It isn’t easy, but character and personality are the attributes we need.”

Rumors surrounding Donadoni’s future at Parma have gained momentum and it remains to be seen how long the Italian remains at the club.
