Parma coach Roberto Donadoni was left disappointed by a last minute 1-0 defeat away to fellow Serie A strugglers Atalanta.

The Crociati now sit bottom of Serie A, and were dominated by a misfiring Atalanta that finally breached Antonio Mirante’s goal in the 90th minute.

“Today we have lost another game in the last minute,” Donadoni told Radio Rai. “We have to do the mea culpa, the simple things.”

“We have to roll up our sleeves and will try again next Sunday.”

With Parma a far cry from the team that finished sixth in 2013/14, the Gialloblu host Sassuolo next week in a crunch match between Serie A’s bottom clubs.

“The situation is becoming heavy, but we have what it takes to get out of it,” Donadoni continued.

Richmond Boakye’s goal means that ex-Azzurri coach Donadoni has watched his side lose six of their opening seven games, nevertheless lying just three points from the safety of mid-table.

“We have fought and tried to bring home a result, but in the end we failed.”
