Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado has put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at the Stadio Artemio Franchi until 2019.

The Colombian international had been linked with lucrative moves to Manchester United and Barcelona but an extension with the Viola will keep him in Florence.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that the player left Fiorentina’s headquarters on Friday evening with sporting director Daniele Prade and technical director Eduardo Macia with a new deal only lacking the official announcement.

It is reported that the 26-year-old will earn €2.5 million per year and a €35 million buy-out clause will be inserted into the terms of the new deal.

Earlier on Friday Fiorentina club manager Vincenzo Guerini confirmed to Sky Sport Italia that the deal had almost been concluded.

“Cuadrado’s attitude has been exemplary during this process,” he said.

“There are [just a few] details [on the new deal]. Both the club and player have expressed a willingness to carry on together.

“It’s only fair that he wants to win things. Until two years ago nobody wanted to join Fiorentina, now the situation has reversed. The club knows what to do.”
