Former Lazio and Inter coach Roberto Mancini has revealed that his next coaching job will see him stay abroad rather than return to Italy if the opportunity arises.

The 49-year-old left Turkish club Galatasaray at the end of last season and was replaced by former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli, but he admits a return to the Italian peninsula is not on the forefront of his thoughts.

“At the moment I’m on vacation, I’m quite well, [a vacation] every now and then does not hurt,” said Mancini when questioned about his future on Italian television show 1900tv.

“[For my next job] I’d rather go abroad for so many reasons.

“It makes you meet a new reality, this is not the right time to return to Italy.”

The former Lazio player and coach was then asked about the Biancocelesti.

“I saw Lazio play against Genoa and they did well, but they lost,” he said.

“I do not think they can fight for a Champions League place, there are teams like Inter and AC Milan that are better equipped.

“In a league like this anything can happen though.”
