Fabio CannavaroFormer Napoli and Italy legend Fabio Cannavaro has stated that he has no involvement with the possible sale of the Partenopei side to Qatari investors.

There have been rumors of possible buyers based in Qatar with interest in purchasing the Naples based team in the near future, but Cannavaro has downplayed his involvement in any talks.

“Interest from funds of Qatar for Napoli? There is no group interested in the take over of Naples in which I am involved,” said Cannavaro to Mediaset Premium.

“I’m done with Dubai and now live in the shadow of (Mount) Vesuvius.”

“Napoli has great international appeal but I do not know the intentions of Aurelio De Laurentiis. The president has done a great job over the past ten years of management.”

Cannavaro made 68 appearances for his hometown club between 1992 and 1995 before moving to Parma.
