Rudi Garcia - RomaRoma coach Rudi Garcia has taken the blame for Roma’s humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.

The Giallorossi slumped to a 7-1 defeat as they welcomed the German champions to the Olimpico for their Champions League clash, and Garcia took full responsibility for the calamitous loss.

“Firstly this evening, I was wrong,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I was wrong because I used the wrong strategy,” he continued.

“We are lucky that the CSKA Moscow and Manchester City result allows us to remain in second place in the group.

“The players are not to blame, it is only my fault.”

The Roma coach conceded that his side were not used to spending long periods of the match chasing possession and they need to learn to be patient when they play some of Europe’s bigger sides.

“We played less well than usual, we were spectators of the game and I do not like that because you have to be compact and aggressive,” he continued.

“We had to wait more, lock ourselves up more.

“We were opened up after the goal because we wanted to equalise immediately.”

The result means the battle for second place in the group will likely heat up even more, with Roma on four points from their three games while Manchester City have two.
