Roma coach Rudi Garcia took to social media on Wednesday to thank Giallorossi fans for their support throughout the 7-1  thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich in Champions League action on Tuesday.

A dismal defensive performance by the Giallorossi was punished severely by the German champions in a match that brought back memories of the 2006/07 edition of the competition when Roma lost to Manchester United with the same result in the quarter-finals stage.

“Even though it hurts, we have already lifted our heads,” Garcia posted on his personal Twitter account.

“We are second in the group and we can still qualify. Our fans gave us so much strength yesterday.”

On matchday four of the group stage the Giallorossi will face Bayern once again, this time at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
