Roma boss Rudi Garcia expects his team to play without fear and apply his tactics with great intelligence as they prepare for Tuesday’s Champions League match with Bayern Munich.

Garcia admitted that Bayern are the stronger side on paper but believes it will not matter if Roma play with the passion, enthusiasm and spirit to mirror the history of the Serie A club.

“We are outsiders and we have known that from the beginning,” Garcia told the press.

“We have played two good games but we must continue tomorrow against Bayern.

“I am fortunate to have smart players, who can implement my strategies and know how to revert to a plan b.”

Although Garcia admitted Roma respect the German giants and Pep Guardiola, he insisted that Roma do not fear any team.

“We always respect the opponent, but we are not afraid of anyone. Bayern are a great team but we have great players and want to make it a great match,” Garcia declared.

“We will give everything on the pitch and then we will see what will happen. We are happy to be outsiders, but we are not spectators.”

Roma will overtake Bayern in top spot in Group E if they win at the Stadio Olimpico, thus leaving them in a commanding position over fellow knock-out phase hopefuls Manchester City, who are still to visit Rome.
