Inter striker Mauro Icardi reiterated he is willing to sign a new contract with the Nerazzurri that currently runs until 2018.

The Argentine forward is believed to be in negotiations with the club over a new deal since turning down reported interest from a number of clubs across Europe during the summer, but admits he is unsure over the progress of a potential renewal.

“I honestly do not know anything, my agent is dealing with it,” the 21-year-old told reporters at Inter’s pre-match press conference ahead of facing Qarabag in the Europa League.

“Should I get the call I only need to sign.

“Would I be happy to extend? Yes, if my agent calls me to sign the renewal then I am definitely happy.

“When I left Sampdoria for Inter I knew this was a great team, and I am happy to be here.”

Icardi has scored six goals in all competitions so far this season.
