Inter match-winner Mauro Icardi says his 90th minute winner against Sampdoria on Wednesday evening was ‘important for everyone’ at the club.

The Nerazzurri have come under recent scrutiny with their performances as of late, and Icardi secured a dramatic late victory over high-flyers Sampdoria by tucking home a last minute penalty to win the game.

“It ‘s an important goal for everyone, for the team and to give continuity to our work,” Icardi told Sky Sport Italia.

A goal against [former club] Sampdoria is a normal goal, actually it’s them that have launched me.

“We don’t listen to the criticism, we keep it out of the locker room. We have to keep winning.

“The whistles? Those who boo do not help us, I already told you. The real fans are the ones who sing for 90 minutes.”
