1-0 win against Sampdoria as fundamental and gave Parma forward Antonio Cassano a message ahead of their meeting at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Saturday.

The Biscione ended Sampdoria’s unbeaten start to Serie A as Mauro Icardi scored the winning goal from the penalty spot for the second game in succession after beating 10-man Cesena by the same score.

“Against Sampdoria it was a fundamental victory,” the 20-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

“We are becoming a real group, formed of real friends.

“We have fun both on and off the field, have come off three good performances, as against Napoli it was also solid.

“The fans have reason to jeer a little, as there have been a few poor performances.

“Now there are another two difficult matches ahead of us.

“Parma are in trouble, but they will nonetheless be tough to break down.

“A short message to Cassano? [laughs] I hope you don’t play well, when he is having fun it is always difficult and we have to be careful with him.”
