Inter midfielder Mateo Kovacic is set to sign a contract extension with the club, keeping him tied to the Nerazurri until 2019.
The Croatian international has enjoyed an excellent start to the season, and Walter Mazzarri’s side are keen to extend a deal which ends in three years’ time.
Representatives of Kovacic met with the club’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio, with the aim of setting out the groundwork of a new deal, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The 20-year-old is considered to be one of the brightest young prospects in Serie A, and attracted strong interest from numerous Champions League sides in this summer’s transfer window.
The player joined Inter from Dinamo Zagreb in 2013 for an initial €11 million fee.
