Pasqual – Fiorentina
Manuel Pasqual was not impressed by Italy’s performance against Malta but insisted that the three points claimed could be key.
Italy are top of Group H along with Croatia who also have a perfect record and the Fiorentina defender believes Italy must improve.
“We did not play well, but to bring home the three points with Croatia also winning was important.” Pasqual told Rai Sport.
“It was a shame that we did not finish off the match.
“We tried but we certainly need to improve in attack.
“It is always difficult when teams play with all their players behind the line of the ball.
“I don’t think we were tired and we should not try to find any excuses for the performance.
“We were unlucky on a few occasions, but we should have killed the game off in the first half.”
