Leonardo Bonucci JuventusJuventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has voiced his disappointment at his side’s 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Italian centre-back started in the clash with the Spanish champions but was ultimately unable to prevent Arda Turan’s goal for the home side, despite the Bianconeri holding 62 percent of possession.

“Maybe we were lacking the final pass,” Bonucci told Mediaset Premium after the match.

“They [Atletico Madrid] did well closing all the spaces as they defended with 11 men behind the ball.

“We had a couple of chances, but eventually we were punished due to a half mistake. We know Serie A and the Champions League are completely different. In Europe there are players that will pounce on any errors and change the game.”

However, the 27 year old ended on a more positive note.

“There are positives and good things are coming. Now we have to prepare for this Sunday. We have an important game [against Roma] to play and we must show that Juve is still the team to beat.”
