Juventus have been linked with another defender in the January transfer window in the shape of Liverpool defender Glen Johnson.

With the player’s contract running out at the end of the season, he had been in talks over a new deal but talks have since reached an impasse with the Reds asking the 30-year-old to take a pay cut.

The Metro reports that the Bianconeri may step in and offer the England international the chance to follow the path of his fellow countrymen, Ashley Cole and Micah Richards, and move to Serie A.

The club could well move for the right-back in the January transfer but a move in the summer looks the more likely option, with current incumbent Stephan Lichtsteiner also out contract in June 2015.

Johnson is currently recovering from a thigh injury which has kept him out for the last six weeks.
