Juventus are reportedly interested in signing on loan Fiorentina defender Micah Richards.

The England international is on loan in Florence from English champions Manchester City but his contract expires in June sparking interest from the Italian champions.

According to the Sun, Juve are keeping an eye on the situation.

While Tuttosport go further claiming that there has been contact between Richards’ representatives and Juventus.

There are reports that meetings between the two parties will continue over the coming weeks.

Although there has already been contact, any deal is likely to happen in the summer rather than January given Richards’ contract situation.

The deal could also depend on the future of current Juventus right back Stephan Lichtsteiner who may leave Turin with both Chelsea and Arsenal interested.

Should the Swiss international leave Juve, Richards is believed to be Juventus’ preferred replacement.

Juventus are not the only team after Richards. Fiorentina are reported to be interested in signing the player permanently.

Richards has played for England 13 times but has struggled with injuries in recent years and has thus failed to find a regular place in the Manchester City starting 11.
