Roma midfielder Seydou Keita is set for talks regarding the extension of his contract.

The Mali international’s current deal expires next season, but coach Rudi Garcia has been full of praise for the new signing’s performances so far this season.

A new contract would run until 2016, and would contain an option to take on an ambassador role at the Giallorossi, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The 34-year-old is a highly valued player in the squad, and is reportedly considered to be the “third captain”, behind Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi.

Roma currently sit second in the Serie A table, after winning five of their first six opening matches.
