Lazio’s star youngster Keita Balde will be staying at the capital club despite not starting a Serie A game yet this season.

Despite a great season last year the 19 year old has been mostly kept on the bench by new manager Stefano Pioli, although starring in the 7-0 demolition of Bassano at the end of August in the Coppa Italia, scoring two goals on that occasion.

The players agent, Ulisse Savini has now emerged with an interview on Italian Radio with comments on Keita’s future and said, “We renewed his contract to play and now he’s not playing.”

As the club rejected advances from Liverpool and Juventus this summer to further the player’s development it is believed that the player and agent alike are unhappy with the lack of game-time so far this campaign. With the agent saying, “It was decided together not to listen to the offers to help the players development, but being on the bench is not what he wanted.”

It is thought that the player is content for the time being and will continue to bide his time to win a starting berth under his new coach. However if a chance is not forthcoming then the player may look elsewhere. With Savini adding, “It is a little premature to make these speeches after three games, but if things don’t change in the coming months we will rethink the players current position within the team”
