Lazio president Claudio Lotito has praised Filip Djordjevic after the striker’s impressive performance against Palermo on Monday.

The 27-year-old opened up his scoring account with the Biancocelesti by netting a hat-trick in his team’s 4-0 away win over the Rosanero and the capital city club’s chief is confident that the Serbian international will only get better throughout the season while wowing both team-mates and opponents alike.

Lotito spoke to Il Tempo about the talent displayed by Djordjevic in Lazio’s triumph over Palermo and hailed the former Nantes man as a champion.

“He is a champion, we know that he will only continue to astonish us all,” said the 57-year-old.

Djordjevic’s showing has even led some of the Aquilotti fans to go as far as comparing the striker to former Lazio greats Christian Vieri and Pierluigi Casiraghi.

The Biancocelesti will be facing off with Sassuolo next on October 5 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
