Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has moved to refute reports that Miroslav Klose is on the verge of a January move to German club Kaiserslautern.
The 36-year-old has struggled to retain his place in the Biancocelesti line-up so far this season and speculation in the German press has linked the striker with a return to his former club.
Tare though has told Tuttomercatoweb that the all-time World Cup record goalscorer will not be leaving the Italian capital this summer.
βI spoke with Klose a few days ago about this subject,β he said.
βHe is very attached to Kaiserslautern, but at this time we are not talking about a transfer.β
The former Bayern Munich man began his professional career in the Bundesliga with Die Roten Teufel, making 147 appearances in five years at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion between 1999 and 2004.
The form of new signing Filip Djordjevic has led to Klose struggling to hold down a place in the Lazio side so far this term under Stefano Pioli, making only three appearances.
