Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has once again been linked with a summer switch to Napoli.
The 27-year-old has reiterated his desire to play regularly, while stating that former Reds boss Rafa Benitez has always shown great confidence in his abilities.
“I want to play,” he told Marca, “but I have to be patient and find a solution with Liverpool or any other club.”
“In the past there were talks of moving to Atletico Madrid, but there was nothing concrete. Now there are contacts with other clubs, and Napoli are also there, but the move has to be a positive situation for all parties.
“It is true that Benitez has always given me great confidence.”
Having moved to the Premier League in 2007 from Gremio, Lucas has notched up almost 250 appearances for the Merseyside outfit thus far in his career.
