apoli defender Christian Maggio has said that the Partenopei’s recent victories have brought enthusiasm back into the team.
Rafa Benitez’s side defeated Sassuolo 1-0 in Serie A on Sunday afternoon and won 2-0 against Slovan Bratislava in the UEFA Europa League.
Maggio praised the attitude and the mentality of his teammates and he also said that Napoli won’t throw any competitions away.
“These latest victories bring back enthusiasm,” he said on Napoli’s Twitter account. “Today we wanted to win and we showed the right mindset.
“We do not want to give up any competition [and] we will fight until the end concentrating game after game.”
Napoli have won both games so far in Group I but the full-back has played down his team’s chances of winning the tournament.
“It is early to say we are favorites in the Europa League,” Maggio said. “We’ve only played two games and the road is still long.”
