Inter boss Walter Mazzarri has revealed that he’s currently ignoring any negative criticism aimed in his direction in order to remain concentrated on helping his team improve after an inconsistent start to the season.

The tactician has been losing the faith of the Nerazzurri fans as of late but insists that his players, along with the club’s executives, still retain trust in his abilities to help the San Siro outfit turn their luck around in the coming weeks.

Mazzarri spoke to Sportmediaset ahead of Inter’s Europa League group stage meeting with Saint-Etienne at home on Thursday about his current situation at the Milan side and admitted that he feels now is not the right time to verbally respond to his critics.

“Are there parts of the Inter fans cheering against me? There will be a time to talk about everything, but now as a coach of this team I’m only thinking of getting the best out of my players,” said the 53-year-old.

“The coach can speak when the time is right, and now is not the right time. I have to think about, and I repeat, only making this team that has been entrusted to me by the club into the best it can be, everything else fades into the background for me.

“Ever since I started this new project I have found a great harmony with everyone at Inter, along with a great mutual respect and great daily communication to go over what we’ve wanted to do, and we want to carry on for a long time.”
